...Is It September Yet? 2011-2012 TV Season
I don't know about you, but I have been ready to go back to school since it ended in June. I am super excited for the upcoming seasons! The excitement is mixed with a little worry, but more on that later. Here's what my fall lineup is looking like:
-
September 13th 9PM, CW: The Ringer. A new series with Sarah Michelle Gellar. It starts off with Gellar playing two characters, twin sisters. Twin #1 flees to Twin #2's house because she's in trouble. Then, Twin #2 mysteriously disappears and Twin #1 takes over Twin #2's identity, thinking that it will keep her out of the trouble she's in. But then somebody tries to kill Twin #1 thinking she's Twin #2... Confused? Yeah, me too. Anyway, it's a new drama/thriller. The promo makes it look really good! Plus, for fans of Buffy, you get to see your favorite character back on the small screen! (Well, different character, same actor... but still)
-
September 15th 8PM, CW: Whet your appetite, because THE VAMPIRE DIARIES is back! Vampires, werewolves, witches, doppelgangers, hybrids, and ghosts! (Well, um, spirits, possibly? Figments of Jeremy's imagination? Yeah...I don't know...)
Spoilers for season 3 ahead We start at Elena's 18th birthday party. Ripper Stefan is back! Him and Klaus are tearing up the town! Not sure if the town they're tearing up is Mystic Falls or not. I know that Damon and Stefan have a scene together. So he must go back to Mystic Falls at some point. Or maybe Damon goes to find him... Anyway, I don't think Ripper Stefan makes an appearance at Elena's bday. At least not until Damon gives Elena his present to her. It's some sort of necklace it looks like. Another event taking place at this party: Tyler brings a lady-friend as his plus one. Caroline sees this and gets a little jealous! Onto Jeremy: Vicki and Anna are wreaking havoc in his life. It's going to have some effect on Bonnie, AND on Matt! I'm majorly excited!
-
September 15th 9PM, CW: The Secret Circle. Another TV series based on the books by LJ Smith and created by Kevin Williamson and Andrew Miller. I don't know a lot about it, but it's about witches! As long as they're all not like Bonnie from The Vampire Diaries, I think I might like it!
-
September 19th 8PM, CBS: HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER! Not only is it the new season, but we get back-to-back episodes! HIMYM for a whole hour! (Well, about 45 min., but still) We start off with them reflecting on Punchy's wedding. We get a “steamy” Barney & Robin dance, and Ted looks like he's making some trouble with the groom - Punchy! This season includes Ted being very involved with the Marshall/Lily pregnancy, because he feels like that's where he should be in his life, and he's jealous that he's not. At the same time, though, he's a big shot architect, and so... ladies love him. I think he's sort of on middle-ground right now. Also, apparently the November sweeps is very Barney/Robin centric! B and R are my favorite couple on the show, so I'm very excited!

September 19th 10PM, ABC: Castle. Is Beckett dead? Are you worried about it? I'm not that worried. Castle wouldn't be Castle without Beckett. I can't imagine they would kill her off. If they do, I'm going to be so pissed! ...But I don't think they will.
-
September 20th 8PM, Fox: Glee. Darren Criss (Blaine) and Harry Shum Jr. (Mike) are being promoted to series regulars! And Chord Overstreet (Sam) rejected returning to season 3. This is the most upsetting news out of everything, in my opinion. Sam was awesome! He was so nerdy in a way that the others weren't. He played football, he worried about his body, and he also did impersonations. His nerdiness was so endearing! Now, he's just... gone. Anyway, there are going to be a few new characters coming aboard. So I'm pretty excited. Not as excited as I am about The Vamp Diaries or How I Met Your Mother, but still. BUT IDINA MENZEL IS COMING BACK!! YAY!
(Sorry, I don't have any promo stuff)
-
September 20th 9PM, Fox: New Girl. Zooey Deschanel is the new girl. She moves in with three single guys... Yeah, because that will turn out good. It is a comedy, though, and 3 guys and 1 girl has a lot of possibilities. I like Zooey Deschanel, but I'm not too fond of how she's talking in the promo... maybe it will wear on me. It actually looks really funny!
-
September 21st 10PM, ABC: Revenge. I love con-people.
-
September 22nd 8PM, NBC: Community. Do you think Pierce will come back to the group? I don't know, I think it was pretty awesome how he just walked out at the season finale. Here's what I want to see in season 3: I want to see more Jeff and Annie! Usually the age thing bothers me, but, for one, they're not that far apart. My aunt and uncle are 15 years apart in age, and they work well together! And, two, they're really good together! I don't get the whole Jeff/Britta thing. I don't think they are a very good couple. Anyway, I also want to see some more Troy/Abed bromance. They're so awesome together!
(Sorry, again, no promo stuff.)
-
September 22nd 8PM, CBS: The Big Bang Theory. I don't have a lot to say about the whole Penny/Raj thing...All I know, is that I want more Sheldon! I love him!
(None again! Argh.)
-
September 22nd 8PM, ABC: Charlie's Angels. I usually wouldn't go for this, but Erica Durance (just finished with Smallville) is going to be on it! I love her!
-
September 23rd 9PM, Fox: Fringe. I don't want to know any spoilers! I haven't watched the season 3 finale yet!
(I don't want to stumble upon spoilers, so, sorry!)
-
September 26th 8PM, CW: Gossip Girl. Is Blair pregnant? I've seen the new set pictures, and it doesn't seem to be so. Doesn't look like Serena is either. Are they just gonna drop that? Well, I don't know. I hope nobody's pregnant, I don't think a baby would be a good addition. Wasn't the “I will always love you” season 4 finale scene between Chuck and Blair amazing? I have to admit, they're pretty much the only reason I watch the show. Sometimes I go on YouTube and just watch their scenes instead of watching the whole episode. On another note, I think Charlie, or whoever she is, is returning as a series regular. I think I like that :)
-
September 26th 9PM, CW: Hart of Dixie. A new Rachel Bilson show! In this one she's a doctor who travels south to continue her medical career. I am going to give this one a chance.
-
October 23rd 8PM, Fox: Once Upon A Time. I love me some good fairytales.
-
November 3rd 9PM, Fox: Bones. I'm sad that they're not premiering it sooner, but I get it. Emily Deschanel is pregnant and they're trying to match how far along she is to how far along Brennan should be. This one is a wait-and-see for me. I was upset that everything happened so quickly. We waited 6 whole seasons for them to get together and we only get to see two scenes that indicate that they're actually together? (Not just hinting.) It felt a little rushed to me. This is one of the one's I'm worried about a little bit.
(No promo stuff :( )
Midseason Premieres:
-
One Tree Hill: The final season. 13 episodes. James Lafferty is only coming back part time. Here's a list of the series regulars (as of right now):
-Sophia Bush as Brooke Davis
-Bethany Joy Galeotti as Haley James Scott
-James Lafferty as Nathan Scott
-Austin Nichols as Julian Baker
-Robert Buckley as Clay Evans
-Shantel VanSanten as Quinn James
-Jackson Brundage as Jamie Scott
-Jana Kramer as Alex Dupre
-Lisa Goldstein as Millicent Huxtable
-Tyler Hilton as Chris Keller
-Paul Johansson as Dan Scott
Here's what I'm worried about: Lafferty is only coming back part-time. Hilton is a new series regular. Apparently he's going to help Haley run Red Bedroom Records. The only reason I sort of liked him in season 3 was because he wasn't after Haley anymore! Hopefully the fact that Haley has been married for about 10 years and has two kids won't make that problem anymore. I won't deny that the show needs some more good drama, but I really don't want that kind of drama. On a different note, I really really really really hope that Hilarie Burton (Peyton) and Chad Michael Murray (Lucas) will come back for a least a couple episodes! That would be amazing! Also, I'm glad Paul Johansson is coming back! I love to hate his character! I sort of don't know how they're going to top the season 8 finale. That ending was AH-MAZING. We got to see a little Lucas Scott! It was incredible! Hopefully they'll be able to make an ending that can satisfy. I think they will be able to. I still love One Tree Hill. Even though a lot of people didn't after Burton and Murray left.
-
Apartment 23: This looks really funny! I originally looked into it because of James Van Der Beek (a.n. I love Dawson's Creek), but the whole thing looks really good! I hope they make it.
-
Good Christian Belles: I probably wouldn't watch this normally. But I have to. I can tell you why in two words-Kristin Chenoweth.
-
American Idol- I didn't watch last season. I'm going to give the new judges a shot.
Now, there are going to be some time-slot wars. I'll have to figure out which ones I want to watch on the TV and which ones I watch later on Hulu or something. Most of the ones that are going to win are pretty clear, though.
Mondays-How I Met Your Mother
Tuesdays-I don't know which one will win the 9PM time-slot, considering they're both new shows. I'll pick later.
Wednesdays-No contest. The only thing I might watching is Revenge. Depends on how good the pilot is.
Thursdays-I will always choose The Vampire Diaries.
Fridays-Only thing I'm probably watching is Fringe. But then again, it's a Friday, so I may just watch it on Sunday or something. But you've seen the amount of TV shows I'm interested in...my schedule probably won't be that full. Imma be hanging out with my other-reality friends.

Although, I don't know how many I'll be watching after I see the pilots.
So there's my 2011-2012 lineup!
What will you be tuning into?
